Embarcadero Technologies, a leading provider of software solutions for application and database development, today announced InterBase ToGo for iOS, an embeddable, high performance, secure, and scalable relational database. Designed for developers who are looking to embed a low cost, zero-admin, lightweight database into their multi-device applications, InterBase ToGo is available for Windows, Mac and now iOS. In addition, Embarcadero is also announcing a new, free version of InterBase, called IBLite, an embeddable database for iOS that can be freely deployed.

Embarcadero is the first and only major independent software vendor to offer an embeddable business class database for iOS. Ideal for ISVs, enterprises, and app development shops, InterBase ToGo provides a common relational database across iOS, Windows, and Mac, dramatically improving development efficiencies and speed to market. InterBase ToGo also uniquely delivers automatic, end-to-end encryption and powerful transaction support on mobile devices.

"With business now being conducted on mobile devices everyday, developers are in need of an embedded database and application solution that can scale with their business requirements," said Michael Swindell, senior vice president of products for Embarcadero Technologies. "Unlike 'Lite' databases, InterBase can scale with your business needs and across a wide range of device platforms. InterBase, combined with the new RAD Studio XE4, creates a complete end to end multi-device native development solution for Windows, Mac and mobile."

IBLite - Free embeddable database for iOS

IBLite is a freely deployable, embeddable InterBase SQL database for iOS. IBLite is available in Delphi XE4 and RAD Studio XE4 editions with mobile support. Customers can easily scale from IBLite to InterBase ToGo edition for additional functionality, including encryption, multi-core support and larger database file sizes or to InterBase Server for multi-user support.
