ActiveState has released Komodo IDE 9. Komodo is an integrated development environment (IDE) for Python, PHP, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS, Node.js, Go language, Ruby, Perl, Tcl, and a variety of other languages and frameworks. The new Komodo IDE 9 is available immediately for download.

"We've been building Komodo for 15 years, and have been an integral part of trends in development languages. Giving developers tools that expand possibilities -- not restrict them -- is in our DNA. Komodo IDE 9 improves multiple areas including support for Google's Go language and tons of useful track changes, search, markdown viewer improvements, and more," said Jeff Hobbs, CTO & VP, Engineering at ActiveState. "Our newest Komodo release is a culmination of that experience and feedback from individual and enterprise developers."

In addition to continued support and features for team and enterprise development, Komodo IDE 9's performance improvements make it the fastest version of Komodo to date. There is now support for Google's Go language, a new Track Changes feature with a diff dialog of the changes as well as reversion of individual changes, a new Markdown Viewer that provides a preview of generated HTML directly within a split view with contents dynamically updated, and multiple improvements to the Komodo Developer API. The updated UI also makes it one of the most well designed versions ever produced. Support for Python 3.4 and PHP 5.6 continue to extend the wide range of supported languages. Komodo IDE 9 is a developer's tool built by developers.
