Oracle Releases NetBeans IDE 7.4 with Advanced HTML5 Development Features for Java EE and PHP

Java development teams around the world are looking to leverage their existing Java skills while building advanced user interfaces based on newer technologies, accessible from any device. To address this need and respond to developers' requests, Oracle has released NetBeans IDE 7.4. The new release includes enhanced HTML5 and JavaScript development features and browser integration with existing and new Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (Java EE) and PHP applications. In addition, it also allows developers to work with and become familiar with the new features of the forthcoming Java Development Kit (JDK) 8 release.

Oracle today announced the general availability of NetBeans Integrated Development Environment (IDE) 7.4. Further extending advanced HTML5 development features to Java EE and PHP application development, NetBeans IDE 7.4 introduces support for developing HTML5 and JavaScript user interfaces on-device. In addition, the latest release of NetBeans IDE provides developer support for working with JDK 8 Developer Preview builds.


NetBeans IDE is a free, open source IDE available for Windows, Mac, Oracle Solaris, Oracle Linux, and other Linux distributions, that enables developers to rapidly create Web, enterprise, desktop and mobile applications for PHP, C/C++ and the Java and HTML5 platforms.
