BlazeMeter Releases CSV Data Split Feature

BlazeMeter, provider of the JMeter based web and mobile load testing platform, announced their CSV Data Split functionality as the latest feature in their quest to simplify load testing. The CSV Data Split feature allows developers to automatically split CSV data from a single file across multiple load servers.
The CSV Data Split solves the issues of developers needing to deal with manually spreading vast amounts of data between servers so each has unique data. Traditionally, when using CSV files in distributed JMeter load tests, JMeter copies the CSV file across all load servers with each load server using the same data. In a scenario simulating 100 unique users logging into a web app, each with their own username and password, the risk of having the same user logging in from different load servers at the same time is high.  In many instances this can lead to unexpected results.

By using the CSV split feature, each load server gets a subset of the original file which ensures that you won’t have the same user logging in from multiple load servers in parallel. The CSV file is simply uploaded along with the JMeter script (.jmx file) and the data is equitably split over the selected number of servers. This alleviates the current day issue of users testings duplicate data and incorrect load results.
